A 1-minute animation series for Way2Blue, where each episode brings a team member's personal story to life. The brief was simple: make people feel like real people, not job titles. Each episode needed its own visual identity to match the tone of the story, so a big part of the process was finding the right aesthetic for each voice.
MEET TOM
Tom's story is awkward, funny, and a little bit haunting, a childhood memory of being pulled on stage and made to scream like a fish. The collage style felt like the right fit here, ransom-note lettering and layered textures that mirror the scrappy, slightly surreal quality of the memory. It needed to feel handmade and a bit chaotic, like the kind of story you piece together years later and still aren't sure really happened.

meet paola
Paola talks about falling in love with Japanese culture through, of all things, a toilet. It's warm, unexpected, and genuinely charming. I leaned into clean illustration and a Japanese-inspired visual language, minimal shapes, textured paper backgrounds, and a colour palette that nods to the culture without becoming a cliché. The animation keeps things playful to match Paola's energy, she tells the story like she's letting you in on a secret.

meet dan
Dan's story is about sneaking off as a kid, stealing an ice lolly, and being annoyed when he got caught. It's cheeky and deadpan. The bold line art on flat colour backgrounds keeps the visuals punchy and stripped back, letting the humour land without overcomplicating it. The transitions between colour blocks give it rhythm, almost like the jazz records Dan grew up listening to with his mum.
